Twenty bars in a town you can cross on foot in fifteen minutes — I counted, street by street, from Cau May down to the last neon on Thac Bac.
All 19 bars in Sapa at a glance
Every entry below was checked in July 2026 against Google listings, recent reviews, and our own visits. Hours drift with the seasons here, so treat the late end of any closing time as a weekend number.
From our July 2026 street check: my first count came to twenty-two. Three of those — The H’mong Sisters, The Wildbeast and Wooden Pub — turned out to be permanently closed, which is how bar lists in Sapa age. The twenty below were open and pouring when we checked.

Pubs and pool tables: where most nights start
Sapa’s pubs weren’t built for cocktail lists. They were built for cold evenings — a pool table, a fire somewhere, drinks that need no explanation.
Local Pub Sapa — best overall

One street off the square on Tue Tinh, framed in red neon and hanging lampshades. Local Pub Sapa holds a 5.0 Google rating across 361 reviews, and earns it the unglamorous way. A big free pool table. Two-for-one cocktails at happy hour.
Mojito Pub
At 21 Cau May, Mojito Pub runs from 4 PM to 2 AM and gives its games away free — billiards, table tennis, a shelf of board games. The house Foggy Sapa cocktail costs ₫120,000 (~$5), and mojitos go two-for-one until 7 PM. Drinks cost a little more than nearby pubs; nobody seems to mind.
Mountain Bar & Pub

Some places quietly change without changing their name. Mountain Bar & Pub is one of them. These days, people talk more about the grilled dishes and hotpots than the drinks. Come hungry first, thirsty second—the bar is still here, but dinner has become the main reason to stop.
Why Bar OCB

The signs at 037 Muong Hoa say it all: OCB, Pub & Restaurant, food and drinks. Inside, Why Bar OCB has paintings on the walls, reggae and old rock, a free pool table, and Happy — the owner, whose name is not a description but usually accurate. Try the house rice wine before the imported bottles.
BRO Pub

Furthest from the square, out on Dien Bien Phu — which is exactly why locals like it. BRO Pub has 43 Google reviews and no tourist queue: a small room, 3 PM to 1 AM, beer and conversation. Skip it if you only have one night; go if you have three.
Cocktail bars and lounges
This is where Sapa dresses up a little. Same fog outside, better glassware inside.
AMG Lounge

Down Cau May alley, open 5 PM to 3 AM — later than any other lounge. The back bar at AMG Lounge is a lit wall of bottles under strings of lights, with the classics at a flat ₫200,000 (~$8). It rates 4.7 from nearly 400 reviews and shifts from lounge to DJ room as the night deepens.
The Herbalist

On Thac Bac road, from 5:30 PM to midnight, and unlike anywhere else in town. The Herbalist grows over 300 herbs on-site and builds its cocktails from the garden — Sapa-tea gin and tonics, herb-steeped Negronis. A 5.0 rating from 301 reviews, and earned; go before the secret spreads further.
The Mong Pub & Coffee

A wooden-shingled house at 035 Fansipan that runs two shifts. Mornings, The Mong Pub & Coffee pours espresso and egg coffee; after dark, the neon cocktail arch takes over until 1 AM. The Irish coffee at ₫139,000 works for either shift.
Bistro Sapa Bar & Eatery

Bar first or restaurant first — at 7 Muong Hoa the answer is both. Bistro Sapa runs two-for-one cocktails from 2 to 6 PM and keeps a serious draft-beer list. The meat-and-cheese platters mean you never have to leave for dinner; at peak happy hour, cozy shrinks to cramped.
T&G Lounge
By day, T&G Lounge at 036 Cau May is coffee and leather chairs; after dark it turns to DJs, and a wall-sized LED screen. Its 4.1 rating is the lowest of the lounges — young crowd, high volume, know what you’re walking into. Still listed and open as of July 2026, though posted hours shift.
Rooftop bars: drinking above the fog
Four bars put the mountains in the view. Timing matters more than the menu — golden hour first, cocktails second.
BB Sky Lounge

The highest terrace in town, up above Cau May alley. BB Sky Lounge runs 10 AM to 1 AM with cocktails at ₫150,000–250,000 (~$6–10). Balcony seats go before 5 PM — climb early or drink indoors.
Skyline Bar

Music appears on some evenings, but the view is there all day. Skyline Bar is listed as open 24 hours, though the rooftop rarely feels busier than around sunset, when the mountains soften into shadow, and the lights of Sapa begin to replace the daylight.
MK Rooftop Bar
MK Rooftop Bar keeps it simple: wood ceilings, glass walls, 10 AM to midnight, mid-range prices. The easiest rooftop to walk into without a plan.
Absinthe Bar

Tenth floor of Hotel de la Coupole, 11 AM to 11 PM. Absinthe Bar does the full ritual, slotted spoon and all, at hotel prices. The 4.1 rating reflects slow service at busy hours more than the drinks themselves.

Clubs and late night: after everything else closes
Sapa is not a party town, and this short list is the whole club scene. That keeps it honest — nobody ends up here by accident.
Alpha Club — best club
The main dance floor in town is at 046 Ngu Chi Son. Two levels of LED walls, heavy bass, and bottle-service booths make Alpha Club feel bigger than Sapa itself. Doors open from 8 PM to 2 AM, with guest DJs regularly taking over the decks on weekend nights.
Sapa Night Club

Down a lane off Cau May, rated 4.9 from 596 reviews. Sapa Night Club is the flashier room: mirrored arches, stage dancers, LED floor to ceiling. One honest warning from recent reviewers — the VIP couches cost ₫1,000,000 (~$38), and staff doesn’t always say so. Ask before you sit.
Color Bar

Bamboo and stone at 56 Fansipan, strung with fairy lights, 2 PM to 1:30 AM. Color Bar pours a local H’Mong apple cider you won’t find at the other nineteen. Happy hour runs one-for-one from 3 to 8 PM, with live traditional music besides — 4.9 from 470 reviews.
Relax Bar

Karaoke, colour, and a crowd that adopts strangers. Relax Bar on Thach Son holds 4.9 from 766 reviews, opens 10 AM to 1 AM, and runs a one-plus-one happy hour from 6 to 8 PM. Come willing to sing.
Hidden and quiet: the other end of the night
Not every evening wants bass.
Whisper Hidden Bar — best quiet drink

A thatched garden bar up Thac Bac, candle-lit, four hours a night. Whisper Hidden Bar opens 6:30 to 10:30 PM, closes on Mondays, and keeps drinks at $4–9, served by a fire pit under the open sky. It suits two people and a slow hour; groups of eight should go elsewhere.
