October to April brings the driest trails and the best cloud-sea odds; summer rain turns the high routes slippery. And remember the cable car exists — hike Fansipan because you want the trail, not just the summit.

Not for Lao Than — first-timers finish it comfortably. Ngu Chi Son asks a little more. The 1-day Fansipan is the hardest thing on this page; take the 2-day version if you are unsure.
