Round trips are two one-way fares on separate dates: $272 for the 4-seater, $290 for the 7-seater. Ask and we’ll give you the same driver both ways; nearly half our private-car guests book a round trip.
Roadwork note (August 2026): parts of the Hanoi–Lao Cai expressway are being repaired, so allow up to an hour more than the usual 5.5–6 hours, whichever vehicle you pick.
Which Private Car Should You Book?
- Two or three of you? The 4-seat car at $136 is the honest pick. Three adults with big suitcases are happier in the 7-seater for $9 more.
- Family of four or five? The 7-seater: real trunk space, and at $29 a head it costs about the same as a shared limousine seat, with none of the waiting.
- Six or more? Skip the second car; a 9–18 seat limousine van costs less per person and keeps everyone together.
- Landing at Noi Bai? Any of these picks you up at arrivals; send us the flight number and the driver tracks it. It’s the one option that works at 1 am when the buses have gone, and there is no night surcharge.
- Traveling on a budget? Be honest with yourself: a sleeper cabin bus runs from $17 per person. A private car earns its price when there are three or more of you, when you have luggage or kids, or when your flight lands at odd hours.

What is included in the price?
Everything for the drive: the car, the driver, fuel, expressway tolls and one hotel or airport pickup at each end. There is no surcharge for airport pickup. Stops for photos or a meal along the way are free; the meal itself is on you.
Can the driver pick me up at Noi Bai Airport?
Yes: enter the airport as your pickup point and give us your flight number when booking. The driver meets you at arrivals with a name sign, and if the flight is late, so is the driver, at no extra cost. From Noi Bai the run to Sapa is a little shorter than from the Old Quarter, around 5.5 hours.
Can I book a round trip?
Yes. Choose “Round Trip” on any product and pick a separate date and time for each leg; the fare is the two one-way prices combined, with no minimum stay in Sapa. We run round-trip discounts at some times of year, shown on the product page, and can give you the same driver both ways if you ask.
Do the drivers speak English?
Basic English, enough for the essentials, plus Google Translate for the rest. Your pickup details are confirmed in writing before travel day, so nothing depends on a conversation in the car. Our support team handles anything else in English.
