The full-day tour is the one most travelers want — it covers the pass, the valley and a village visit without rushing any of them. Take the half day when your schedule is tight. And skip the car entirely if you came to walk: the valley is better on foot, with our Sapa trekking tours → from $15.
Timing matters more than the tour choice. March to May and September to November bring the clearest mountain views, and the terraces turn gold from mid-August into early September. In winter fog, the pass viewpoints often show only cloud — ask us before booking a December half day.
