2. Hydrangeas (April – May peak)
From April, the hydrangea hillsides start turning blue and lilac, peaking in May — Sapa’s most floral month, when sunflowers and cosmos join in across the valleys.
Two places do it best. The Sau Chua garden slopes run a wooden walkway straight through the flowers, and Ta Phin valley is famous for its hydrangea fields.
3. Mountain Azalea (March – May)
Wild azaleas are the Hoang Lien range’s own flower — pink, red, white and yellow bushes lighting up the cliffs from March, climbing with altitude into May.

4. Roses at Rose Valley Sapa (May – June, again September – October)
Sapa’s old climbing roses bloom hardest in May and June, then come back fresh after the rains in September and October.

6. Canola Flowers (late November into early January)
The rice harvest ends, and the mountains don’t stay brown for long. Small patches of canola flowers begin appearing across the farming valleys and hillsides around Sapa, bright enough to catch your eye even through the winter mist. They bloom from late November into early January – not in one famous field, but scattered where people still farm the land.
7. Flower Garden at Ham Rong Mountain
Ham Rong is the hill right behind Sapa’s stone church, and it keeps the town’s orchid collection. Expect hoà ng lan, lan hà i and lan kiếm, plus rarer trần mộng and kiếm thu varieties.
