Quick answer: Sapa’s adventure scene is three stops. The Rong May complex on O Quy Ho holds six rides — glass bridge, suspension bridge, bungee, zipline, swing and cable bike (entry 500,000 VND + 150,000 VND per ride). Add the Alpine Coaster at Ban Mong (250,000 VND) and tandem paragliding over the valley. Half a day covers Rong May; go before noon — fog closes the view most afternoons.

Rong May: six thrills behind one gate

The complex sits where the O Quy Ho pass crests — about 20 km from town, a 30-minute drive, at roughly 2,200 meters above sea level. A cliff elevator carries you up; everything after that is a short walk between platforms. Entry is 500,000 VND at the counter, 475,000 booked online (children 1–1.4 m: 300,000; under 1 m free).

Glass bridge — the anchor

The suspension bridge — slower, somehow harder

Two hundred meters of wooden planks — 171 of them, the staff will tell you — strung some 600 meters above the gorge floor. No glass, no tricks, just gaps and sway. Watch half of each group cross while the other half suddenly remembers they prefer photography.

Bungee — five seconds, priced accordingly

The jump costs 1,600,000 VND (~$63) — Sapa’s most expensive few seconds, and for one kind of traveler, the only ones that matter. Book at the counter — it runs on its own schedule, and weather cancels without apology.

Zipline and the aerial swing

Both cost 150,000 VND a ride, and they are opposites. The zipline is over fast — speed, wind, done. The swing is a slow arc out over the drop: long enough to regret it, long enough to love it.

The cable bike — the strange one

You pedal a bicycle along a single cable over the gorge — harnessed, at walking speed. It is the least violent ride here, and somehow the one people still talk about at dinner. 150,000 VND.

Alpine Coaster at Ban Mong — the one you control

Back at the edge of town, the German-built Wiegand track runs 1,095 meters with an 825-meter downhill that touches 40 km/h — if you let it. Hand brakes mean you choose between race and stroll, which is why this is the family pick.

Paragliding — when the wind agrees
