Quick answer: Sao Viet runs the Hanoi–Sapa sleeper bus with private cabins — the only bus on the route with a toilet on board — from $18 single, $30 double. Fifteen departures a day from the Old Quarter, Giai Phong, Pham Van Dong or Noi Bai Airport, 5.5–6 hours door to door. Free reschedule up to 4 hours before, no payment fees.

Overview

We book travelers onto Sao Viet daily — hundreds of passengers a month go through our desk — and it’s the cabin bus we recommend most often on the Hanoi–Sapa route. You get your own enclosed cabin, not an open berth: sleep, charge your phone, and use the onboard toilet without waiting for a rest stop. The drive takes 5.5–6 hours via the CT05 expressway, depending on traffic and weather.

It suits couples and solo travelers who want privacy and a restroom on board without paying private-car prices. Flying in? Sao Viet also picks up at Noi Bai Airport — or book the dedicated airport-to-Sapa bus with 19 departures to 00:30.

Why Choose Sao Viet Bus?

The onboard toilet gets the headlines — but here’s what else makes Sao Viet the bus we book most often for our guests:

  • Free rescheduling. Plans change — move your departure with a WhatsApp message up to 4 hours before the bus leaves.
  • Board right at Noi Bai Airport. Pickup at Domestic Arrival Gate E1 or International Column 17 — no taxi into Hanoi first.
  • Door-to-door in Sapa. The Sapa office sits next to the night market, and a free mini-van shuttles you between the bus and your hotel in town.
  • English support from our team. Sao Viet’s own staff mostly speak Vietnamese; we handle bookings, changes and on-trip issues in English.

Sao Viet (often written SaoViet) is the only Hanoi–Sapa cabin bus with a toilet on board. Comparing operators first? See all cabin buses compared — or our honest Sao Viet review after 20+ rides.

You are safe in their hands. I booked a night cabin bus from Sapa to Hanoi, I was really impressed with the interior. And they woke me up for Hanoi airport.
I actually left an item behind and they were very easy and accomadating to deal with and sent it back to me on the next bus. Communication with Ms Ha through whatsapp was very easy and went above my expectations. I was so gratefull.
They are also next to the night market in Sapa which was nice for dinner before my bus. And they offer an complimentary airport shuttle service at Hanoi airport.
Thankyou so much for making my Vietnam experience a great one!

  2. Un Han

  4. Rismadhanti Regita

I booked Sao Viet sleeper bus from Noi Bai airport to Sapa and Sapa to Hanoi Old Quarter. The bus was clean and comfortable even for my parents.
I also booked private car from our hotel at Hanoi to Noi Bai Airport.

The Cust Service really helpful from our planning until the end of our trips. Well prepared and organized.

  5. Pan (verified owner)

From booking to actual travel experience was really good. personal attention from Martin was worth noting to make sure travel was pleasant and good, I recommend this website for booking your Sapa travel needs.

  6. Alyanna (verified owner)

    Superb Customer Service!
Ms. Ha was always responsive and consistently provided updates without me ever needing to follow up. I actually had to cancel our cabin bus booking from another third-party app because their operator was unresponsive even with our flight was already the next day, they still didn’t provide us with the pickup details.

Ms. Ha and on the other hand, was extremely accommodating, informative, and helpful making sure that we had a wonderful experience in Sa Pa.

You are truly amazing, Ms. Ha. Thank you so much for your outstanding customer service and for making our trip smooth and pleasant. I appreciate Sapa Nomad’s service. Until next time.

Took the sleeper bus from Hanoi to Sapa and back. Booking was easy, and the bus was clean and comfortable enough for the 6-hour ride. The driver was a bit rude to some passengers, but Mr. Martin was very caring and kept me updated via WhatsApp with details and timing. We arrived near the Old Quarter a little late due to traffic, but overall it was a convenient and budget-friendly option to travel.

  8. MANTZANIDIS DIMITRIS

Our cabin had spider webs and bugs inside, when we told the crew they were being a bit ironic with it.
There are no pillows and it’s really uncomfortable for the neck/head.
Also the bus was smelling really bad.
We contacted the company and they said they would do something to fix the problems but all that happened is that they sprayed air freshener twice and that’s it.
    Bad experience, wouldn’t recommend it.

  9. Coen

Great service. Had a good experience with support via Whatsapp, and was able to book multiple trips with cabin busses in Northern Vietnam. Every bus was on time, transfers to specific destinations were taken care of, and it was all very clean! Do note there is no toilet on the bus, and you would have to go on stops on the way, which might not have the cleanest facilities and charge a small amount for their usage.

  10. JC M

We booked a sleeper bus round trip to Sapa from Hanoi. Bus ride was clean and comfortable one. Ms Ha who is the coordinator for this trip was responsive and very helpful. One of us actually left our passport in the sleeper bus when we came back to Hanoi from Sapa and Ms Ha assisted us on retrieving it back. Any issues or questions raised was very promptly answered by Ms Ha. Amazing sleeper bus service with Sapa Nomad. Please look no further and book via them. They pick up from airport and sends to Sapa Hotel directly. Pickup was seamless and very on time. Even the return trip was very on time! Best part is they have sleeper buses of different timing throughout the day so you can pick one that fits your flight timing. Solid 10/10 service!

  14. Ally T

We booked a night sleeper bus from Hanoi to Sapa through Sapa Nomad. Our flight was delayed to hanoi but the staff, Ha was so patient and helpful in helping us get through this obstacle by rescheduling the bus timing twice instead of cancelling or forfeiting our tickets.
Ha provided the best service and I highly recommend her !! She made our trip better.

  15. Abby N

The bus came and arrived on time. The person in charge response fast too on text to help if you have any issues.

  16. Zsófia T

I booked my bus ticket from Hanoi Airport to Sapa and then from Sapa to Hanoi. The service was so professional. I read so many bad review about bus companies, booking offices and I am so happy I found Sapa Nomad. They sent me the ticket on Whatsapp and answered all questions, sent us reminder the night before etc. Thank you so much! (We took the Sao Viet bus (upper cabin), it was really comfy:)-

  17. Bianka P

I booked a bus transport from Hanoi to Sapa (Saoviet company) and I had a very good experience. Great communication through whatsapp, they helped me to reschedule and were always responsive. The sleeper bus was great, clean, and comfy, we had one or two stops. The van picked us up at the airport. In Sapa we had to talk to the staff about the van transport but we showed the tickets with the hotel address and they took us there. I lost something while travelling and through whatsapp they helped me to contact the bus company.

I Book Via Sapa Nomad For My ????????Vietnam Trip To SA PA (Northwest of Vietnam)

On Monday morning (26/02/2024) after Reaching No Bai International Airport (Hanoi, Vietnam) we were told to wait at the International Arrival Hall, where we were greeted by the ‘Sao Viet’ Van which pick us up to their office, which later on we boarded the Sleeper Bus.

The Interior Of Bus Is Beautiful and it’s very clean. Although for a fact, they are not well-versed in English, but we can pick up 1-2 language of what they were saying.

After a long 6hours Journey from Hanoi, we arrived at the beautiful breezy and cooling place of SA PA.

From Sao Viet SAPA office we disembarked the bus and head to their Van which take us to our Hotel in SA PA.

Our return Journey from SA PA to Hanoi 4Days later was also a breeze.

Thank you SAPA NOMAD & SAO VIET SLEEPER BUS.
