Sapa Group Bus Overview

Sapa Group Bus runs VIP cabin sleeper buses on the Hanoi – Sapa route with Hyundai Universe coaches carrying just 22 private cabins each — singles on the upper deck, doubles (90×180cm) on the lower deck, every cabin with a privacy curtain and window. Fewer cabins per bus means a quieter ride than the 24-cabin buses on this route.

Each cabin comes with the standard package of blanket, pillow and bottled water. There is no onboard toilet — the bus makes rest stops en route — and pickup and drop-off are at the Sapa Group offices — 160 Tran Quang Khai in Hanoi and 426 Dien Bien Phu in Sapa — with an optional Noi Bai Airport pickup (+$2). We confirm your cabin directly with the operator and send details by email.

Schedule & Departures

Direction Departure times (daily)
Hanoi → Sapa 06:45 · 22:00
Sapa → Hanoi 14:00

Around 6 hours each way with two rest stops. Fewer departures than the big operators — Sapa Group runs a tight schedule and is known for leaving on time, so arrive at the office 15 minutes early.

Why Choose Sapa Group Bus?

The quieter bus: 22 cabins instead of the usual 24 means fewer neighbors and less aisle traffic. The lower-deck option: Sapa Group is one of the few operators selling lower-deck singles ($21) — no ladder, easiest boarding on the route. On-time record: this operator is known for strict departures — good news for planners, bad news for latecomers.

The trade-offs: no onboard toilet (only Sao Viet has one), no massage berths, and only three departures a day — if your schedule needs flexibility, HK Buslines runs 24+.

  1. Foteini

Clean, comfortable, toilet inside, we had a very nice experience

  2. Andrea Cilliers (verified owner)

Do not recommend. Driver was very rude and did not understand english. Bus stopped for an hour where we did not even know where the driver was (this was not during the rest stop). Did not have any wifi because it “broke the night before”. After we bought snacks for the bus, the driver took the bag and simply said we were not allowed to have it on the bus. Tv did not work, aircon was just a big hole blasting cold wind on me and could not adjust it. Bus was not clean.

  3. Charlotte C

We booked a sleeper bus to and fro Sa Pa and Hanoi with Sapa Nomad, and had a very good experience with the company and staff. The response rate was quick and they picked us up from our accommodations. They were very polite and we would recommend them to other travellers!

I reserved a bus travel from Hanoï to Sa Pa few hours before leaving and the service was great, very available and helping.
