Inter Bus Lines built its name on one idea: the Love Cabin — a curtained double pod for two, on a themed bus, at a price nobody else matches. A double is $27 for two people; a single upper pod is $17. It’s the bus we suggest to couples on a budget, and the reason most bookings on this page are doubles.
What you give up: only three departure clusters a day, no toilet on board, no massage berths, and buses from 2019–2022 rather than the newest fleets. What you keep: a real double berth with a curtain, Wi-Fi, blankets, USB charging, and pickup at three points including Noi Bai Airport.
Cabin Dimensions: Both Single and Double cabins share the same size: 110cm x 180cm.
Capacity & Layout: Single cabins are for 1 passenger, while Double cabins accommodate 2 passengers. Singles are on the upper deck, doubles on the lower deck.
Double Cabin — lower deck, $27 for two: one 110×180cm berth behind a curtain; $13.50 each, the cheapest way for a couple to get a private cabin to Sapa. Single Cabin — upper deck, $17: your own pod, ladder to climb.
Traveling solo? You can also book a double for yourself if you want the space.
Pick-up Location:
Arrival: 436 Dien Bien Phu street, Sapa
The cheapest double cabin on the route: $27 for two behind a curtain — Sao Viet, HK and G8 charge $30–33 for theirs, and Inter’s own list price is higher. Three pickup points: 5 Tran Nguyen Han in the Old Quarter, 419 Giai Phong, or Noi Bai Airport — flying in, you skip the ride into town. The themed buses: Valentine colours, Love Lion decals; you’ll either love the photos or politely ignore them.
The trade-offs: three departure clusters, not hourly like HK; no toilet (only Sao Viet has one); no massage berths. And two adults share about 110cm of width, so bigger couples may prefer two singles.

Inter’s staff call or message you the day before with your exact pickup time and point; pickups run 15–20 minutes apart. Around 5.5–6 hours to Inter’s Sapa office at 436 Dien Bien Phu. Roadwork note (August 2026): parts of the Hanoi–Lao Cai expressway are being repaired, so allow up to an hour more for now.

Yes, solo travelers can book a cabin for themselves, though the bus is designed for double occupancy.
You choose the class — upper single or lower double — when booking; our team picks the best available pod and sends you the number right after payment; groups are kept together.
No, there is no onboard toilet. However, the bus also makes regular rest stops along the way.
Yes — choose Noi Bai Airport as your pickup point; Inter’s team messages you the meeting point and time the day before. It’s one of the few cabin buses that collects at the airport as well as the Old Quarter.
Complimentary bottled water; Wi-Fi, blankets and USB charging are in every cabin. There is no toilet on board — the bus stops twice on the 5.5–6 hour run.
It’s a real double berth, about 110×180cm behind a curtain — fine for most couples and cheaper than two singles ($27 vs $34). If either of you is tall or broad, two upper singles give more elbow room for $7 more.
