G8 Sapa Open Tour runs VIP cabin buses between Hanoi’s Old Quarter and Sapa — about 6 hours each way. Each bus carries 22–24 private cabins: singles on the upper deck, doubles on the lower deck, every cabin 90×180cm with a pull curtain, integrated massage seat, USB outlet and reading light.
Buses are air-conditioned with WiFi. There is no onboard toilet — the bus makes two rest stops en route. Hotel pickup is available from many Old Quarter hotels, and on arrival the bus drops you at your hotel or accommodation in Sapa.

Two blocks carry most of our guests: the late-night buses (22:00–23:15) and the 04:00 departure, which suits travelers landing at Noi Bai overnight. Be at your pickup point 15 minutes early. Roadwork note (August 2026): parts of the Hanoi–Lao Cai expressway are being repaired, so allow up to an hour more for now.

Is G8 a sleeper bus or a cabin bus?
Both names fit: G8 runs VIP cabin buses — 22–24 private pods behind curtains rather than open bunks. Singles are on the upper deck, doubles on the lower deck, all 90 × 180 cm with a massage function.
How much does the G8 bus cost?
$19.50 for a single upper pod, $22.50 for a lower pod to yourself, $33 for a double shared by two. Water, blanket, WiFi and USB charging are included; no payment fees.
Where does G8 pick up in Hanoi?
At 160 Tran Quang Khai near the Old Quarter, or at Noi Bai Airport (domestic and international lobbies — pick it in the form). Hotel pickup in the Old Quarter is available for some hotels; ask us on WhatsApp when booking.
What are G8's departure times?

Is there a toilet on the G8 bus?
No — the bus makes two rest stops instead. If an onboard toilet matters, Sao Viet is the only Hanoi–Sapa cabin bus with one.

I booked the G8 Cabin Bus from Hanoi to Sapa return. It was very comfortable and a pleasant experience. It would have been nice if there were restrooms on the bus, but perhaps buses in Vietnam don’t have these. Luckily there are 2 rest stops en route. I especially liked that I was offered an earlier return trip since there were extra spots available on the bus.

We booked a double cabin and the only difference between the single and double cabin is that they provide two pillows instead of one: there is no difference in cabin size. The bus itself is relatively nice but the checkin process is not smooth, it appeared many people also had issues at checkin. When we questioned our booking they were very sarcastic and rude. I would recommend you book the single cabin if booking with this company… not a satisfied customer.

The staff are very approachable.
They provide water as well to and fro.
On the way back from Sapa to Hanoi, my pillow was slightly dirty and i asked the staff to change it and they changed to a clean pillowcase which was great.
Need to take note of the bus which is “G8 tour” and not “Sapa Nomad” but you can book via “Sapa Nomad” website for the sleeper bus.
Upper deck cabin is for 1 person and you need to climb, won’t be suitable for persons with mobility issues. lower deck is for 2 persons.
There’s 2 toilet stops. Roughly about 6 hour journey including stops.
