Location: Scenic views, Close To Town
- Location: 24 Cau May, TT. Sa Pa Town, Sa Pa, Lao Cai
- Rating: 8.6/10
At Mega View Homestay in SapaTown, I found myself in the heart of everything compared to other famous spots in the city! Only a quick 3-minute jaunt from the charming Sapa Stone Church, it’s nestled right under the famous Old Street – Cau May. This spot was a perfect launchpad for exploring. I could easily hop over to Ham Rong Mountain, hop on the Fansipan Mountain Cable Car, or take in the serene beauty of ancient stone beaches and the magical Silver Waterfall – Love Waterfall.
However, there were a few drawbacks to the location of Mega View Homestay itself. The street leading up to the homestay was incredibly steep, making it difficult to carry our heavy luggage. Thankfully, we requested assistance and the staff kindly helped us with our bags. Another thing to note is that there are many stairs you have to climb each time you want to leave the homestay. So, be sure to prepare for a bit of a workout during your stay at this otherwise pleasant accommodation in Sapa.

Staying at the Deluxe Queen Room at Mega View Homestay was an exciting experience. Waking up to the sight of the Hoang Lien Son range and the majestic Fansipan peak right from my balcony was breathtaking. The rooms were spacious and cozy, with large balconies even in the street-view rooms, perfect for my group of friends. The decor, blending national and European styles with green and yellow tones, added to the charm.
However, the room I had wasn’t great at blocking out noise, so I could hear some sounds. The bed and mattress were a little firm, but surprisingly, I still slept well. What impressed me were the beds, mattresses, and other items made from natural materials like bamboo. They also had beautiful Sapa motifs like brocade. The bathroom was nice too, with a modern design and a washbasin made from natural stone taken from Muong Hoa stream.
Other Amenities
I found the bar/lounge to be a cozy retreat. After a day of adventure, I relaxed with a drink in hand, soaking in the warmth of the fireplace. The inviting atmosphere and friendly staff made it a perfect spot to unwind and connect with fellow travelers, adding an extra layer of comfort to my stay.
Dining: Restaurants, cuisine options, dining experience
Rating: 8.7/10
I woke up feeling hungry and headed to the hotel’s dining area. The American breakfast spread was impressive, with pancakes, bacon, eggs, and more. There was also an à la carte restaurant that offered delicious Asian cuisine. I tried their special dish and it was full of flavor! The best part? The breakfast was only VND 60,000 per person! It may not be fancy, but it satisfied my taste buds. Besides, they offered delicious hosted evening meals each day with prior booking.
Customer Service: Staff Friendliness, Responsiveness To Needs
Rating: 9.4/10
The customer service at Mega View Homestay was exceptional. The staff were incredibly friendly and responsive to our needs. They spoke English fluently and even arranged a trekking guide for us. What impressed me was their hospitality when we arrived early from Hanoi by train. The owner kindly allowed us to shower before check-in, making us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived in Sapa.
However, there was a slight delay when we requested extra blankets for the chilly night. It took a bit longer than expected for them to be brought to our room.
Conclusion
As I wrap up my review of Mega View Homestay, I reflect on my stay. Despite the challenges of the steep street to the homestay, the overall experience was pleasant. The hotel’s amenities, location, and services were satisfactory. However, improvements could be made in soundproofing and bed comfort. Despite these minor issues, my time at Sapa Relax Hotel & Spa was enjoyable, and I would consider returning in the future.
