Food & Wellness Specialist — The Taste Keeper

The first thing you smell when you step into a Sapa morning market isn't food — it's woodsmoke. Then comes ginger, simmering somewhere behind a steaming pot. I write about the flavors, aromas, and healing traditions that make Sapa's food and wellness scene unlike anywhere else in Vietnam. Every dish has a story, every herbal bath carries generations of knowledge, and I'm here to help you discover both.

About Nguyen

I joined Sapa Nomad because I believe food is the fastest way to understand a place. In Sapa, a bowl of thắng cố isn't just soup — it's a gathering ritual at the Bac Ha market. Corn wine isn't just a drink — it's distilled from hillside harvests using recipes passed through generations. My job is to take you behind the menu and into the kitchens, markets, and village homes where these flavors are born.

Beyond food, I cover Sapa's growing wellness scene — from traditional Red Dao herbal baths (a practice older than any spa certification) to modern massage studios that blend local ingredients with professional techniques. I test every spa, taste every dish, and talk to the people behind them before writing a single word.

My writing is sensory and immersive. I want you to feel the warmth of a cup of apple wine on a cold Sapa evening, to smell the herbs steeping in a wooden tub, to hear the sizzle of grilled pork at a street stall. If my articles make you hungry or craving a mountain retreat — that means I've done my job.
