Bac Ha market is like a picture of colorful daily life in this white plateau land. This every-Sunday-market is attended by at least 8 ethnic groups and lasts from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM.

Bac Ha Market Tour Itinerary
Private Bac Ha market tour begins at 7:00 am – 7:30 am from your hotel in Sapa. Enjoy beautiful rice terrace fields on the way to market ( 2,5h from Sapa – Bac Ha ).
Arrive at the market with colorful culture from different ethnic groups, have nice pictures and wander around the market, take a look at simple things from the commercial life of the people here.
Bac Ha Market is divided into several zones, each with a different category of products. There are cattle markets, vegetable and meat stalls, wine and agricultural vendors. Soak up the atmosphere, let’s try some specialties here, some local foods with ethnic people, such as “Thang co”, have a sip of corn wine,…
This is also a chance for tourists to discover the H’mong King’s palace (an old building built by the French & Chinese) named Hoang A Tuong palace – Unique architecture more than 100 years old.
In the afternoon, we keep going on a light trek to visit Ban Pho (Bản Phố) village, the home of the Flower H’mong minority. We are invited to enter several local houses to have some green tea, corn wine, listen to the host talking about their family, the local people here…
At the end of the tour, we enjoy landscapes on a roundabout way to Bac Ha to get back to Lao Cai to catch the train or continue up to Sapa (2 options for travelers).

We had a wonderful day in Bac Ha. The car picked us up at our hotel in Sapa on time, we had great experiences at Bac Ha market in the morning and visited the old residence of the H’mong King’s in the afternoon. We were then taken to Lao Cai station.
